Power and Performance
You can select from three different electric powertrains for your EV9. The base model gets 215 horsepower and has 223 miles of driving range on a single charge. You also opt for a long-range model that gets 201 hp and up to 300 miles of range. Both come with rear-wheel drive and boast a towing capacity of up to 2,000 pounds.
The top three trims pair the larger battery with two electric motors for a total of 379 horses and all-wheel drive. Depending on trim, you’ll get the equivalent of up to 87 miles per gallon with the EV9 and a range between 243 and 270 miles. The AWD powertrain gives the EV a class-leading zero-to-60 time of just 5 seconds. You’ll also be able to tow up to 5,000 pounds with this model.
Cabin Tech and Features
The modern interior of the EV9 showcases a 12.3-inch infotainment touchscreen, a 12.3-inch driver info screen, and a 5-inch climate control touchscreen. The base trim features a wireless hotspot, an eight-speaker stereo with HD and satellite radio, six USB ports, Bluetooth, wireless charging, navigation, Apple CarPlay, and Android Auto. The EV9 comes with a standard push-button start and proximity keyless entry.
You’ll also appreciate the convenience of an intercom and three-zone auto climate control. Optional features for the EV9 include ambient cabin lighting, a sunroof, and a 14-speaker sound system.
Interior Space
The EV9 has seating for either six or seven passengers depending on configuration. You can also take advantage of more than 20 cubic feet of cargo space in the rear, which expands up to almost 82 cubic feet when you fold down the second and third rows. Few electric SUVs can match the EV9’s cargo capacity. You can even store a few items in a second small trunk at the front of the vehicle.
Safety and Driver Assistance
Kia has equipped the EV9 with the latest driver assistance tech. Every trim has a vehicle exit warning, rear-seat alert, blind-spot monitoring, auto high beams, driver attention monitoring, adaptive cruise control with lane centering, rear cross-traffic alert, forward collision warning with cyclist and pedestrian detection, front and rear parking sensors, and more. Available options include a reverse collision warning, a digital rearview mirror, a surround-view camera, and a blind-spot camera.
